Meet the CTE Counselor

Dr. Ebonee Magee-Dorsey, LPC, NCC, NCSC
My name is Dr. Ebonee Magee-Dorsey and this is my ninth year as an Educator and my 1st year as the CTE Counselor at the Lawrence County Technology & Career Center. I have been a School Counselor in the Lawrence County School District for 7 years and I have worked at the elementary, middle school, and college levels.
I am a 2006 graduate of Lawrence County High School. After graduation, I attended Mississippi College and earned my Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication, Master of Education in School Counseling, Education Specialist in Counseling, and Doctorate in Professional Counseling. I am a National Board Certified Counselor (NCC), National Board Certified School Counselor (NCSC), and also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I have been an active leader in the school counseling field for numerous years and have presented at numerous conferences across the state.
I am an active member of the Magnolia State School Counseling Association, where I currently serve as the Assistant Chair to the Board of Directors. I am also an active member of the American School Counseling Association (ASCA), American Counseling Association (ACA), Mississippi Counseling Association (MCA), and Mississippi Association of Middle-Level Educators where I serve as Vice President.
In 2019, I was selected as the MCA School Counselor of the Year and recently the 2023 Magnolia State School Counselor of the Year where I will travel to Washington, D.C. in 2023 to be honored with the winners from every other state and attend a black-tie gala where the American School Counselor Association will announce the national School Counselor of the Year.
As a school counselor, I focus on identifying barriers to success, social justice, advocacy, leadership, and most importantly, my students through a comprehensive counseling program. My role consists of meeting with students individually or in small groups. I help all students apply academic achievement strategies, manage emotions, apply interpersonal skills, and plan for high school options.
I am excited to serve the students at Lawrence County High School and Lawrence County Technology and Career Center. She is committed to the success of each and every student.  Dr. Dorsey’s goal is to effectively support the social, emotional, and educational needs of ALL students. Please do not hesitate to contact her with any concerns, questions, or suggestions.
