I am a 2006 graduate of Lawrence County High School. After graduation, I attended Mississippi College and earned my Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication, Master of Education in School Counseling, Education Specialist in Counseling, and Doctorate in Professional Counseling. I am a National Board Certified Counselor (NCC), National Board Certified School Counselor (NCSC), and also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I have been an active leader in the school counseling field for numerous years and have presented at numerous conferences across the state.

In 2019, I was selected as the MCA School Counselor of the Year and recently the 2023 Magnolia State School Counselor of the Year where I will travel to Washington, D.C. in 2023 to be honored with the winners from every other state and attend a black-tie gala where the American School Counselor Association will announce the national School Counselor of the Year.
As a school counselor, I focus on identifying barriers to success, social justice, advocacy, leadership, and most importantly, my students through a comprehensive counseling program. My role consists of meeting with students individually or in small groups. I help all students apply academic achievement strategies, manage emotions, apply interpersonal skills, and plan for high school options.

Dr. Dorsey’s goal is to effectively support the social, emotional, and educational needs of ALL students. Please do not hesitate to contact her with any concerns, questions, or suggestions.
