Matthew Rayburn

           My name is Matthew Rayburn. I live in Jayess, Mississippi and have lived in Jayess since 1995. I am married to Regina Rayburn. We have 2 children.

I graduated from Lawrence County High School and I was enrolled in the same class that I teach, under Mr. Darrell Turner. I started taking summer courses from Co-Lin Community College the following week of graduation to get further ahead. I enrolled in Machine Tool Technology at Co-Lin Community College to become a machinist and graduated with a 3.8 GPA and started working as a machinist at Gatlin Corporation the following week and worked there for 2+ years before I became a teacher.

          I started teaching Metal Trades, which is now called Metal Fabrication Technology. I plan to continue teaching for many years to come. I have been a Skills USA Advisor since I stared teaching. Throughout the years of competitions I have had many students to place first in State Competition and they were able to represent Mississippi in National Competition.
